The Omnitrix

After getting an HBO Max subscription, I started to watch one of the best shows from my childhood again, Ben 10! I felt so nostalgic after watching the original show and two or three of the reboots that I wanted to do what I did as a kid. Draw artwork inspired by it.

I started thinking, if I had an alien watch that could turn me into any alien in the universe and I had the chance to design it, what would it look like? I spent a couple of hours into the night researching and sketching. It started as something small, but it quickly got out of hand.

After finishing the line work, I got started with the flat colors. Now, I’m not usually good at digital painting, but I decided to go with a more painterly end product. Then I started doing variations of the Omnitrix, open and closed and different colors.

I got a little bit out of control until I got bored of it. The funny thing is, I put these pictures up on my Instagram, @travtastic_87, and with the Ben 10 tags and the new shows that are out now, a bunch of fans of Ben 10 found it, and boy are these kids weird… just like I me!

The post has about 1,861 likes and has become one of my most liked pictures on Instagram!

I would highly recommend the original show. I haven’t watched the newer ones, but I’m sure they’re terrible.
